As part of the Platform team, you'll be responsible for the architecture, deployment and operations of our database systems across both cloud and on-premise environments. Beyond core DBA tasks, you'll also have the opportunity to contribute to broader infrastructure and DevOps topics, including service architecture and platform reliability.

Main responsibilities

The tasks for the Staff Database Engineer include, but are not limited to, the following

- Operate, optimize and modernize our Mysql database platforms across hybrid environments, spanning both cloud-native and on-premise infrastructures.
- Drive high availability, reliability, and security of production databases through automated monitoring, dynamic scaling, proactive alerting, and continuous health assessments, with a strong focus on observability and operational excellence.
- Participate in the on-call program to provide application support, handle incident management, and troubleshoot production issues
- Collaborate with backend developers to optimize queries, indexes, and schema design, while continuously improving the architecture and deepening your understanding of the global system
- Plan and execute platform upgrades to meet evolving use cases and workloads (capacity planning, storage choices), while automating recurring tasks such as maintenance and repairs
- Contribute to knowledge sharing through procedure documentation and team training, and stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies in databases and infrastructure
